The ROV pilot technician grade 2 course is the basic ROV / Technician course according the IMCA training scheme. The aim of the course is to give already experienced electronic and or hydraulic graduated technicians a basic training as ROV pilot / technician grade 2 and make the participants familiar with the rules and regulation in the maritime and offshore industry.
The course can be focused at the in the company used rules and regulations and the company used ROV's. After the course the Pilot / Technicians have to demonstrate the competences according the IMCA competence scheme and make there piloting hours before they receive their Pilot / Technician grade 2 certificate. The outline of the course is a 3 weeks training and is a balanced combination of theory and practical exercises covering the following topics:
- High voltage and safety awareness
- Fundamentals about ROV electronics
- Fundamentals of ROV hydraulics
- Rules and regulation
- Logging and reporting
- Navigation and positioning equipment
- Rigging and slinging
- Survey equipment and sensors
- Teamwork an co-operation
- Safety awareness
- General offshore industry
