This Introduction to Hydrography offers an introductory overview of hydrographic projects and hydrographic systems. This online course deals with currently-used hydrographic survey methods and measurement principles. Essential technical terminology is explained to equip candidates with a practical understanding of survey activities. All subjects are taught in such a way that sufficient basic knowledge can be acquired. 

 

The course is supported by video material providing the students an introduction to surveying in general positioning, multi-beam, and sensors (gyro, IMU), software, data processing. The course leads to a Certificate of Attendance. The curriculum is comprised of five instructor-led online lessons of 3 hours each. After each lesson the instructor is available (max 1 hour) for Q&A.

 

The Introduction to Hydrography course is designed for individuals without formal hydrographic training but working or aspiring to work in the field.

Upon request the course can be expanded with specific subjects thus becoming an extended introduction to Hydrography.
